Creativity

Recently, some friends and I sat down through the course of a few weeks and wrote an entire skit script for our Youth for Life skit team. The skit team I'm talking about is a group of young teens who go around to different churches and give a fun (yet informative) presentation about being pro-life. It has been around for about 6 years now, and I've been a part of this team for 3 years.

Like I said before, this project was a team effort. I definitley worked collaboratively with others, and spent many hours coordinating schedule times and throwing around ideas for the script. This also involved me showing perseverance and commitment in this activity, because sometimes there would be days that barely anyone would show up to work. However, in the times that we did meet, my friends and I were able to get a lot done. Usually, we were all able to agree on the most important things: overall content, order of events, and other significant parts of the original presentation. However, there were a few small things that my friends and I debated over, like the names of different characters and what we would wear. :) It was interesting but a really fun experience.

There are some really serious parts in this skit obviously because of the content. This is definitely an instance where I considered the ethical implications of my actions, because making such a stand in this controversial issue is not something to take be taken lightly. I chose (and still continue to choose) to participate in this skit team not only because I am pro-life but because I want others to be informed. A lot of people (especially youth) don't even really know what abortion is, or how widespread it is. So I'm on this skit team not to change minds, but to simply invite people to be more open-minded about this topic and to really consider what's going on.
